Craic of Dawn 2022

Spring into step and enjoy the early morning sunrise on
Saturday 2nd April for the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue team!

Craic of Dawn is a NEW event for 2022 which has been
set up to help recoup on the loss of funding due to restrictions
over the past 2 years.

Craic of Dawn is a 12km walk taking in the Little Sugarloaf.
It is what it says it is – the craic of dawn, an early morning
sunrise walk (not too strenuous but will include some uphill climbs starting at 5.00am).

This short and sweet event requires no fundraising; just a once off registration payment of €50 pp.
Anyone over 18 can register for this walk, but unfortunately dogs are not allowed.

We are currently upgrading our website. In the meantime you can register for Craic of Dawn using the Moonlight Challenge registration system. Apologies for any confusion caused by this.

The route

Starting from Belmont Demense (A63 FX34) you will head north towards Killruddery Estate via Lime Avenue. Shortly after the route veers west towards the Little Sugarloaf where there will be spectacular views of the east coast and the early morning sunrise.

This 12 km route consists of beautiful forest trails, rough tracks, a little mountain terrain and a height gain of 360m. It’s the perfect route for a beginner hillwalker. (All levels of, 18+, hillwalkers are welcome)
